1. Overview
Pics Optimizer ("the App"), developed by Mr SS Applications, is designed to work entirely on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App does — and does not — handle.
2. No Uploads, No API Calls
The App does not use the internet. It has no network permission and cannot send your photos, or any other data, to any server. All image compression (quantization, dithering and re-encoding) happens locally using on-device processing.
3. Photo Access
You choose which photos to optimize using the system photo picker. The App only ever accesses the specific images you select — it does not browse or scan your full photo library.
4. Data Stored Locally
The App may store the following information locally on your device only, using Android's private app storage:
- Your chosen quality preset and appearance settings.
- A history of past compression results (file names and size savings) so you can track how much space you've saved.
None of this data is ever transmitted off your device, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or analytics.
5. Permissions
On Android 9 (Pie) and below, the App requests storage write access solely to save optimized photos back to your gallery. On Android 10 and above, this is handled through the system's scoped storage without any special permission.
6. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.
